Welcome to the UNC Charlotte International Studies program! Since Fall 2000, we have been offering an interdisciplinary undergraduate major in International Studies. It is intended to provide students the opportunity to acquire information and skills vital for living in the "shrinking world" of the 21st century. Operating within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the program welcomes students looking for an innovative major and encourages students majoring in related disciplines to consider a double major. In addition to taking courses designed to promote general global awareness, students will select a concentration in African, Asian, European, Latin American, or Comparative Studies. Advanced foreign language study and an international study experience are important components of the program. For those students able to accommodate only limited additional requirements, we continue to offer an interdisciplinary International Studies minor.
